Even More Hoops: Debugging WebAssembly across the Hardware Memory Partition Boundary

Debugging is a perennial requirement and (lessening) headache for WebAssembly-based applications. When you want to use a VMM for hardware protection around a webassembly runtime, how then does debugging even? This talk picks up where prior presentations leave off. Using the hyperlight-wasm project, we describe how debugging needs to be configured to debug different languages inside a micro-vm protecting the host and other request instances. Leave with a renewed appreciation for how debugging works at all.
