Sustainability is a key objective for cloud and edge infrastructure, particularly in high-scale Telco deployments where energy consumption is a major concern. WebAssembly (Wasm) is positioned as the next efficient execution layer for cloud computing, but it currently lacks the peer-reviewed performance results and continuous monitoring tools to justify large-scale adoption.
This talk fills that gap. We introduce WasmPulse, an open-source benchmarking framework built on the methodology described in an accepted IEEE CCNC 2026 paper. We will provide a deep-dive, data-backed analysis comparing server-side Wasm (AOT/JIT), containers, and bare-metal processes across key sustainability metrics: startup speed, artifact size, network latency, and CPU/Memory usage scaling under high load.
