Kit is an advocate for Open Source and WebAssembly.

As a principal software architect in Yahoo, Kit leads the CDN team to provide innovative, fast and secure solutions to deliver contents to users. He is also a contributor to the Apache Traffic Server (ATS) project and responsible with many ATS plugins such as ESI (edge side include), Lua and WebAssembly. For years, he engineered solutions to provide and leverage programmability for proxy server software with these plugins. His latest obsession is WebAssembly. He sees it as a natural next step in his journey and is eager to offer his expertise and experiences to popularize Edge compute at the CDN with WebAssembly.

Kit also contributes significantly at the open source program office (OSPO) in Yahoo and provides guidance in monitoring the usage and contribution of open source software as well as on the governance of these processes. He continues to work with legal department of the company and leverages his experiences of participation with open source organizations such as Apache Software Foundation and Proxy-Wasm community in his role. His goal in this role is to be an advocate for open source software and educate people in his work environment on the benefits of open source and the challenges of managing the usage and contributions to it.
